Welcome to Narromine

Narromine Gliding Club is located at the Historic Narromine airfield, in NSW Australia.

It is due West of the Great Dividing Range on the Mitchell highway, just a short walk from the center of Narromine township.

 

Narromine is an iconic cross country soaring site and has been host to many successful National and International Gliding Competitions during its long history.

 

The township is only 38 kilometres (20-minutes by road) from the major inland city of Dubbo, a city with a population of over 34,000 people. Many flights are available each day from Sydney to Dubbo with Qantas Link and Regional Express (Rex) airlines. An express XPT train service is also available from Sydney to Dubbo which then connects by coach to Narromine.

Accommodation Options

At this stage available accommodation options are becoming heavily booked, so we encourage all teams to finalise their accommodation arrangements without delay if you have not yet done so.

There is now only limited accommodation options available in Narromine, the surrounding area and in Dubbo, which is a major regional centre just 20 minutes drive south of Narromine. Modern Club Room

A modern air conditioned club room with wireless internet that extends the Broadband WiFi Internet access to the tie down area

Modern Full Kitchen

It boasts a modern full kitchen and well stocked beer and wine ‘fridge, indoor and outdoor dining and entertaining areas, 2 separate permanent BBQ’s plus a portable modern stainless steel BBQ.

Beautiful Outdoor Area

The outdoor area boasts lots of green grass for children to play and includes a covered pagola and sun umbrellas for shade.

Relaxing Indoor Area

The indoor areas provide lots of space for dining, or just relaxing with a cold beer, the modern shower and toilet facilities are professionally maintained and are spotless.

Narromine Aero Club

Adjacent to the Club House is the Narromine Aero Club which includes a fully serviced bar and restaurant.

Multimedia Auditorium

There is a well equipped multimedia ready auditorium with the latest audio visual aids, PA, and presentation technology. The auditorium can seat over 200 people.

Glider Tie Down Area

The glider tie down area has the capacity to tie down approximately 120 sailplanes by use of a cable system.

Trailer Parking

Trailer parking is in line with the sailplanes. Water taps established along the lines of tie down with an underground, flush mounted water system.

Close To Town

Narromine Town Centre is only a 5 minute walk from the Airport and Dubbo, the closest Regional City, is a short 20 minute drive.
